Pennsylvania State Police Make String Of Dui Arrests

At the beginning of the Pennsylvania State Police made a string of DUI arrests in the greater Philadelphia area. Often police make DUI arrests after pulling a driver over for another reason. In some instances, a driver may be arrested after getting into an accident. One of the arrests was the result of a single-vehicle accident.

In the early morning hours of June 2, Pennsylvania State Police responded to a one-vehicle crash on Interstate 95 in Bensalem. According to police, the driver of the vehicle lost control of the car and struck the exit 37 sign and the guardrail of the highway before the vehicle came to a stop. Officers investigated the accident and found a 50-year-old driver who was allegedly intoxicated. The man was arrested for DUI.

Three days later, around 3 a.m. state police stopped a driver who was speeding on Interstate 95 outside of Bensalem. The 29-year-old driver was arrested for allegedly being intoxicated while behind the wheel and faces a DUI charge. Another speeding incident on June 8 led to another driver’s arrest. On June 8 around 2 a.m. state police stopped a car for speeding outside of Bensalem. According to police, the 34-year-old driver was traveling 104 miles per hour and was also allegedly drunk. The driver faces DUI charges.

The following day, another driver was stopped during the early morning hours for speeding. The 22-year-old driver was charged with a DUI after officers allegedly the driver to be intoxicated. Less than one hour later on June 9, another 22-year-old driver was stopped for speeding and found to be allegedly intoxicated behind the wheel. The driver faces DUI charges.

The night of June 9, state police responded to one-car crash in Middletown Township. The car was discovered in the median of the highway. By the time police arrived at the accident scene, the driver had fled. However, police later identified the driver and was found at the vehicle owner’s home.

On June 10, state police pulled over a vehicle on Interstate 95 and the driver was allegedly intoxicated and arrested. It is unclear whether police subjected the drivers to breath or chemical testing. Individuals who refuse to submit to breath or chemical testing may face increased license suspensions. An experienced criminal defense attorney can help guide an individual arrested for DUI through the legal process.
