4 Drunk Driving Arrests In 24 Hours Northeast Of Philadelphia

Any drunk driving defense attorney could tell our Philadelphia readers that police have various methods of attempting to detect whether or not a driver is intoxicated.

Before a police officer can ask a driver take a Breathalyzer or field sobriety test, the officer must have had a reason to stop the driver on the road. Sometimes that can mean that the officer observed the vehicle swerving or otherwise driving erratically, but, many times, the stop can come from a speeding violation.

That is what recently happened to three out of four drivers who were arrested on a stretch of Interstate 95. Over the course of a 24-hour period, police indicated that three stops for speeding violations led to arrests on DUI charges. A fourth driver was also arrested for DUI, but there was no immediate indication of why the police stopped that driver. Now, all four are most likely looking for a Philadelphia DUI attorney.

Having a few drinks before driving may put a person at particular risk of being pulled over by cops, regardless of whether or not they are over the limit. Besides having to worry about getting pulled over by police, driving while intoxicated also leads to an increased chance of getting in a car accident – and many times crashes involving a DUI suspect can result in serious legal consequences.

However, it is important for everyone to remember that an arrest does not mean that the accused will be convicted. Just because these four individuals were arrested for drunk driving does not mean they have admitted or demonstrated their guilt. Perhaps the most important thing for these four individuals is to consider all of the available options for a criminal defense strategy. Knowing all of your options can lead to a positive resolution of charges or a reduced sentence gained through plea bargaining.
