Arrest In Philadelphia After Woman Allegedly Crashes Into Store

If any of our readers find themselves looking for a drunk driving defense attorney, obviously something has gone wrong at some point. A DUI arrest can come with instant ramifications, including a license suspension or termination from employment. However, almost any Philadelphia DUI attorney would tell our readers that a DUI arrest is also one type of situation in which the police can make the most mistakes. A DUI arrest has quite a few procedural steps which must be followed exactly – and failure to do so could result in a dismissed case or reduced charges.

But, unfortunately, there are some instances when a DUI arrest isn’t as simple as determining whether the driver was over the legal intoxication limit. A recent incident left the driver facing other charges as well – charges of criminal mischief.

According to the reports, this driver crashed the vehicle she was driving into a liquor store on January 12. Photos accompanying the report showed a scene of major destruction, but the driver is alleged to have actually driven away after the accident. The 28-year-old woman was located soon afterward away from the scene, where she was then arrested for DUI.

One criminal charge is difficult enough for anyone to deal with. But when there are multiple charges, especially one in which property damage was an issue, the case becomes even more complicated because the defendant may also have to deal with demands for financial restitution to cover the cost of repairs. For this driver, crafting a sound criminal defense to the case will be crucial. If the case results in a conviction, the restitution that could be ordered could go into the thousands of dollars.
